What Is Salesforce Service Cloud Voice?

Service Cloud Voice is Salesforce’s framework for handling calls inside the Service Cloud console: the Omni-Channel panel, the case record, and the call transcript, all in one screen. What it doesn’t include is the phone system underneath it.

Salesforce still needs a telephony provider to place and receive the calls. CloudTalk’s Salesforce Service Cloud Voice integration is that provider, plugging in as the calling backend instead of Amazon Connect.

How Does the Salesforce Service Cloud Voice Integration Work With CloudTalk?

Connect CloudTalk’s Salesforce Service Cloud Voice integration once an admin sets up the contact center in Salesforce. The CloudTalk widget then appears directly in the Omni-Channel panel, so agents just log in with their CloudTalk credentials to start taking calls. Contact matching and call logging sync back to Salesforce automatically, with no extra app for agents to open.

Benefits of the Salesforce Service Cloud Voice Integration

  1. 01
Cut Calling Costs Without Changing Your Salesforce Workflow:
Native Service Cloud Voice backends like Amazon Connect are built for enterprise call centers and priced like it. CloudTalk plugs into the same Omni-Channel panel at a cost built for mid-market teams, with no new interface for agents to learn.
  2. 02
Go Live in Days With Salesforce Service Cloud Voice:
Because CloudTalk sits inside the Omni-Channel panel Salesforce already ships, there’s no separate contact center build. Enable Service Cloud Voice, connect CloudTalk, and agents are calling the same day.
  3. 03
Gain Instant Context With Salesforce Contact Matching:
Automatic contact matching against Contacts, Leads, and Accounts means agents see case history and customer details the moment a call connects.
  4. 04
Automate Call Logging in Service Cloud Voice:
Every call logs itself as a native Voice Call record the moment it ends, with duration, status, and linked contact visible in My Work.
  5. 05
Handle Call Transfers Confidently in Service Cloud Voice:
Blind transfer, Safe Mode, and warm transfer via Add Caller and Merge cover the handoff patterns a support queue needs, inside the same panel agents already work in.
  6. 06
Stay Future-Proof on Salesforce’s Voice Framework:
CloudTalk’s integration is built to Salesforce’s current framework for Service Cloud Voice, rather than the Open CTI framework Salesforce is winding down.

Salesforce Service Cloud Voice integration

Service Cloud Voice handles calls inside Salesforce, but it needs a telephony provider behind it. CloudTalk fills that role: a Salesforce-approved alternative to Amazon Connect, priced for mid-market teams and live in days instead of a quarter-long rollout.

Salesforce Service Cloud Voice Integration FAQ

Everything you need to know about this integration.

It’s Salesforce’s framework for handling calls inside the Service Cloud console: the Omni-Channel panel, case records, and call history, in one screen. Service Cloud Voice itself doesn’t include a phone system; it needs a telephony provider connected to it to actually place and receive calls.

No. Service Cloud Voice is the console experience. Salesforce’s default telephony backend is Amazon Connect, but Service Cloud Voice is built to work with approved third-party telephony providers as well.

Yes. CloudTalk connects as the telephony provider inside the Omni-Channel panel, so agents get the same Service Cloud Voice experience without Amazon Connect underneath it.

CloudTalk’s Salesforce Service Cloud Voice integration connects your Salesforce org and CloudTalk account so the CloudTalk widget appears directly in the Omni-Channel panel. Calls, transfers, and contact matches sync back to Salesforce the moment they happen.

An admin completes a one-time setup in Salesforce (permission sets, a contact center record, and CSP allowlisting) using the admin setup guide. Agents then just enable Service Cloud Voice and log in with their CloudTalk credentials.

Once the admin setup is done, connecting an individual agent takes two steps: enable Service Cloud Voice, then log in. Most teams have agents taking calls the same day.

CloudTalk’s Salesforce integration, Service Cloud Voice included, is available on the Expert plan. Salesforce’s own Service Cloud Voice and telephony costs are billed separately by Salesforce.

Yes: blind transfer, blind transfer with Safe Mode, and warm transfer via Add Caller and Merge. Warm transfer takes an extra click because Service Cloud Voice doesn’t support single-click warm transfers, a platform limitation rather than a CloudTalk one.

Yes. With CloudTalk connected, inbound calls surface in Salesforce with caller details loaded automatically from matched Contacts, Leads, and Accounts.

Yes. CloudTalk logs every call as a Voice Call record with duration, status, and linked records, viewable through My Work and the record’s activity history.

Yes. CloudTalk automatically matches inbound and outbound calls to existing Contacts, Leads, and Accounts, and surfaces customer details and past interactions during the call.

This isn’t confirmed yet. The standard CloudTalk-Salesforce integration syncs data on Classic, but click-to-call isn’t supported there, and whether the same holds for Service Cloud Voice specifically still needs confirming.

No. Amazon Connect is Salesforce’s default telephony backend for Service Cloud Voice, but the platform also runs on approved third-party providers like CloudTalk.

Admin access to Salesforce Service Cloud, an active CloudTalk account on the Expert plan, and Service Cloud Voice already enabled in your Salesforce org.

Salesforce ships Service Cloud Voice with Amazon Connect by default, but it’s built to work with other approved telephony providers, including CloudTalk, so teams aren’t locked into one backend.
