Toll-Free Number Pricing

Nobody hesitates to call a number that costs them nothing. That's why CloudTalk offers you virtual toll-free numbers from $6 a month (plus one-time activation fee for select countries), on any plan from $25 per user per month.

Please note that our prices are VAT exclusive. VAT will be billed to EU customers in line with the applicable rates of their member state unless a valid VAT number is provided.
For all number types, the minimum billed usage time per number is one (1) month.

Frequently Asked Questions about Toll-Free Numbers

What toll-free numbers cost, where they reach, and when they are the right number to buy.

A toll-free number is a number your customers can call for free, because you pick up the cost of the call instead. It helps because price stops being a reason not to ring: the person with a complaint, a pre-sales question or a renewal to discuss gets through without weighing up what the call costs them.

They start 800, 0800 or 1-800 depending on the country, and they are built for inbound work, which is why most support desks run on one. If you want a number people recognise as local instead, that is a different job and a local or national number does it better.

Toll-free numbers start at $6 a month and run to a few hundred in the hardest markets to reach, with most countries landing around $15. Activation is a one-time fee: 21 countries charge nothing, most of the rest sit near $20, and a handful of regulated markets are far higher. Look up the country you actually need, because the spread between the cheapest and the dearest is wide (note: CloudTalk's toll-free number pricing is the same in both euros and dollars).

The number is only part of what you pay. It sits on top of a CloudTalk subscription, billed per user per month, so budget for the seat and the number together. Our pricing page shows what each plan includes.

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on the country. Outbound calling from a toll-free number is fully supported in 16 countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France, Spain and Canada. Elsewhere the local network either hides your caller ID or blocks the call outright, which is the regulator's decision rather than CloudTalk's.

It is also switched off by default, so ask our support team to enable it on your number before you plan a campaign around it. The full country list is in the Help Center guide to outbound calls from toll-free numbers.

Usually not, and this is the thing most buyers get caught by. The large majority of toll-free numbers are reachable only inside their own country, so someone dialling your 0800 from another market often will not get through at all. That is how toll-free ranges are regulated worldwide, not a limitation we can lift.

If your customers call you from several countries, buy a number in each of the markets that matter, or use a local number that anyone can dial internationally. Country coverage shows which number types exist where.

Most toll-free numbers need paperwork: roughly six in ten ask for some combination of company registration, proof of ID for a company representative and a service address, while the rest need nothing at all. Toll-free ranges are the slowest numbers we sell, so where a lead time is published the middle of the range sits near 40 business days.

The wait starts when your documents are complete, which makes sending them in full the first time the single fastest thing you can do. Requirements and lead times are listed per country in the Help Center coverage article.

Alongside toll-free numbers, CloudTalk offers Local, national and mobile numbers in 160+ countries. A local number carries the area code of one city, a national number works across a whole country without being tied to a region, and a mobile number uses the prefix people are most likely to answer when they do not recognise the caller.

Prices for those three sit on our number pricing page, and which types actually exist in each country is on country coverage.

Yes, CloudTalk offers both. You can buy local, national, mobile and toll-free numbers in 160+ countries, assign them to whichever team or agent should answer, and route calls by country, time zone or working hours, so a customer in one market never waits on a team in another.

For distributed teams the practical detail is reachability rather than headline coverage: toll-free is for inbound in a single market, while local and national numbers travel better. Our international numbers page covers how that works day to day.
