Have questions?
What are Concurrent Channel and Calls Per Second limits?
Concurrent Channel and Calls Per Second (CPS) limits refer to the restrictions placed on the number of simultaneous calls (concurrent channels) and the rate at which new calls can be initiated per second (CPS). These limits are often set by your VoIP provider and can impact your call center’s capacity to handle high volumes of calls. Exceeding these limits can result in call failures or delays.
What does the term concurrent calls mean in ITSP or VoIP?
In ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) or VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), concurrent calls refer to the number of phone calls that can be handled simultaneously over a single connection. This capability is crucial for call centers and businesses that need to manage multiple customer interactions at once, ensuring efficient communication without overloading the system.
What is a concurrent call path?
A concurrent call path refers to the specific route that each simultaneous call takes through a network. In VoIP systems, these paths are virtual channels that allow multiple calls to occur at the same time. The number of concurrent call paths available determines how many calls can be made or received simultaneously without affecting call quality.
What is the concurrent call limit?
The concurrent call limit is the maximum number of phone calls that can be handled at the same time by your VoIP system or service provider. This limit is determined by the infrastructure’s capacity, including bandwidth, available call paths, and the terms set by your VoIP provider. Exceeding this limit can result in dropped or blocked calls.
What is a simultaneous call?
A simultaneous call is a phone call that occurs at the same time as another call on the same network or system. In a business setting, the ability to handle simultaneous calls is essential for maintaining smooth operations, especially in environments like call centers where multiple agents need to be on calls concurrently.
